DPA Dippers

Our complete equipment system provides reliable protection for fruit place in long interval controlled atmosphere storage rooms. Our DPA "dipper" coats fruit in bins on truck flat beds or straddle conveyers. The appropriate liquid solution is sprayed on the fruit as the truck moves thru a spray containment booth. The system resembles a hugh car wash. Storage tanks hold DPA and/or other solutions that are meant for specific varieties of fruit. Excess solution drops to the driveway, returns to a screened pit, has is pumped back to the storage tank it came from.

Features of our DPA Dippers:

Fast thru puts
Because our method uses a high volume of liquid, gallons per minute, trucks can move thru the DPA Dipper at a constant no stop speed.
Solution penetration to the bin core.
Because of the high volume flow rate of the coating solution our DPA Dipper gives thorough fruit coating. This is true for the lowest bin in a multi stack on the touch.
Adjustable side nozzles Our DPA Dipper's success is also due to the spray booth side nozzles. The driveway is sloped in two directions to get the excess liquid back to the screened put. As a long flat bed truck/trailer moves past the stationary side nozzles its bed height changes constantly. The side nozzles are adjustable up and down. This is done by a hand held switch box. The DPA Dipper operator can adjust constantly as the truck moves.
Goof proof operation
Our best DPA Dipper system had multi storage tanks. The operation can instantly switch from one solution to another from the control panel. There are no valves. Cross mixing of different solutions is less than 2%. The DPA Dipper can switch solutions as fast as the trucks can move thru the spray booth. This removes a potential source for error should an operator be required to switch multi valves.
Uniform solution mixtures.
Our DPA Dipper incorporates a liquid agitation mechanism. This keeps each tank of chemical concentrate uniform through out the volume of each tank at all times. Since the chemicals used in DPA systems are in suspension in water they can readily settle out or pocket in stagnant tank areas. Our tanks and agitation systems do not allow for stagnant areas. The agitation system, individual to each tank, also has a filtration that continually pulls out debris.
Long lasting
We have been building our DPA systems for over 20 years. The first ones we built are still in operation with almost zero repairs or maintenance. Over the years we have made improvements to the overall design and have retrofitted early built units.
