Custom Technology has built Hydro Coolers for the past 15 years. We have made complete turn key machines both stationary and portable. We have designs for stacked bins of fruit, boxes of produce and bulk items. All our machines are completely built and assembled in our Yakima shops. They are made in sections or modules for highway transport.
Design
Our Hydro Coolers are available in many sizes. The stationary units have the refrigeration package built into them. In all cases our Hydro Coolers are configured to keep all the water in motion all the time. This gives a very uniform water temperature for consistent even cooling of product. It also eliminates water stagnation spots in the storage tanks.
Refrigerated water is either rained down form above for shallow depth or bulk products or combined with multiple level side nozzles for stacked (binned) products.
Portable Hydro - Coolers
These are made as two independent units. The refrigeration package is mounted on a highway legal semi trailer. The drencher portion is the equivalent of a semi trailer. The idea is to bring both units to an orchard or farm to cool bins of fruit or produce immediately as it is harvested to drastically extent shelf life.
Construction.
All our hydro coolers are made in our Yakima shops. They have electric controls requiring only a cord from an electric power source.
We furnish our Hydro Coolers of steel structure (coated) with stainless steel wetted parts. This includes tunnel walls and storage tanks. All stainless steel construction is also available.
Filtration.
With all the water of the hydrocooler system in motion all the time it is very effective to use double stage filtration. The result is cleaner water less subject to bacteria growth and dirt accumulation. This is a unique feature to our hydro coolers.
